Sick of the same old carvery? The Grange in Ballyboughal offers a refreshing alternative to your usual family eatery. For years they have catered to little ones in their charming café while parents enjoyed perusing the fine art in the gallery and beautiful, kitchy gifts in the shop.

Only recently the café has become home to The Gourmet Food Parlour, already a favourite foodie spot for residents in Dun Laoghaire and Swords for its fresh and tasty breakfasts and lunches. Think creamy scrambled eggs, homemade soups, fresh salads and moreish sandwiches, the likes of which you normally only see abroad. Finish off with one of their ever-so-tempting puddings and you have yourself one fabulous family lunch. The kids menu is actually healthy and still caters for the fussiest of eaters.
Before you go, reward your well-behaved little diners to something in the gift shop – the kids section offers lots of creative and unusual toys and games that will keep them busy after you return home.
The Grange is closed on Mondays.
